Why have we decided to take on this challenge?

We have created this page because we at the Sikh Helpline are here to help others. We have received a number of calls from distressed, worried and at risk, key COVID-19 workers who continue to serve during this difficult time, but are not being provided the vital Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) equipment that they need to protect themselves and their families , e.g., some medical professionals, chaplains, charities distributing food etc.

These individuals are making a difference and are working tirelessly to help others and save lives. We have therefore set-up this “MILES FOR PPE” Challenge fundraiser, with 100% of funds to be used to get PPE to individual’s in the community who desperately needs it.

Together, lets come together to be the beacon of support and help for those who are putting their own lives at risk to help and save the lives of others.

How it works

The target is set, one mile for each UK based hospital, how you complete it is up to you!

Whether you run, walk or cycle, take part at your own pace and in your own time during Friday 8th May to 24th May 2020. You can do a little every day to help achieve the team target.

All you need to do is log your progress and setup your fundraising page

There is no cost to sign up, however we are collectively fundraising to raise funds to buy PPE for our key frontline workers

Why every mile counts

In line with government advice, we have taken the decision to cancel this years Scotland to Birmingham bike ride. This annual event raised much needed funds to support ongoing services provided by the SIKH HELP LINE charity. This year, we have decided that the 100% of all funds raised should go back into the community and help our key front line workers.
All funds raised will be used to purchase  “personal protective equipment”.
EACH Mile Counts! this is the perfect challenge for you – because it’s made by you!
