I never did no crime I was just wearing a Kirpan

Below is an video which the Sikh Helpline would like to share, having received a number of calls from those who have and are experiening similar issues. The video relates to the recent media highlights relating to the unlawful banning of wearing the Kara and Kirpan. We hope this article will help to share the message as documented in the local and regional news, explaining the law and legislation around this topic.

The Sikh Helpline have yet helped another youth resolve his problems which were causing him sheer distress, despite the law being on his side Everyone can remember when they were in school…

That first day, when you started secondary school, many of us attempted to blend in, make some friends with whom you would spend many enjoyable years with. Meet people you can chill out and share your ups and downs with. Many of us had that chance and will remember our secondary school life to be the best and will never forget it, but there are some of us who don’t and some of our youth today who find major difficulties in their school life. Not because they are struggling with their school work, actually a high percentage of our kids do quite well. But because they are outcaste by their class mates because of their religion.

DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR TO YOU?  ARE YOU OR SOMEONE WHO YOU KNOW GOING THROUGH THIS OR SOMETHING SIMILAR?  PLEASE DO NOT SUFFER IN SILENCE, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE HERE TO HELP AT THE SIKH HELPLINE, 24 HOURS A DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.  PLEASE CONTACT US USING ONE OF THE METHODS ON OUR CONTACT US PAGE.
