We have had a lot of emails coming in congratulating the Sikh Helpline for our recent successes. We would like to thank everyone for showing their support. There are also members of the sangat who would like to know how they could help us out... see if you can pick out something to do from the list below...
1) If you have a speciality in a certain area, for eg, computer programming, poster designing, word processing, etc.. you could help us out there. Or if you're a consultant and could help people with your experience, you could help us out there too. Just use your expertise to complete projects such as the area you are specialized in. If you would like a specific job let us know.
2) Spread the word.... Tell everyone about the Sikh Helpline so that anyone who needs our help know that we are here for them. There's no point us being here if there are so many kids out there who need us and don't even know we exist. We are not only here for teenagers or the younger ones; we have helped the slightly older sangat too. So please tell everyone about us.
3) We are an organisation who runs solely on your donations. None of our members are paid for the jobs that they do. It is comprised completely of volunteers. But we do need money to pay for the helpline and to make sure it is free for people who need help. So, whatever you can donate to us would help, however small. You could even put monthly donation in, from your daswant.
4) If you are part of an organisation, let us know if we have your full support. When we deal with authorities, they will know that it is not only us who are concerned about a certain issue but the whole Sikh community. Your backing would prove to be very useful to the speed at which a problem is dealt with.
If there are any other ideas that the sangat could come up with please let us know. There are valuable to us and do take your suggestions into consideration. After all, this organisation has been set up for the sangat to use.
Again, I would like to thank everyone who has supported us and have emailed us. We will deal with your queries as soon as we can.
